Savory Sauvignon Burgers

Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.


1-3lbs. lean ground sirloin
1c.Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon wine.
1c. crimini mushrooms ,chopped small
1 vidalia onion, chopped small
6-8 slices Havarti cheese
1 bunch clean,dry butter lettuce olive oil
Salt and pepper
Mayo Topping:
2-3 sprigs fresh thyme
1/8 tsp. white pepper
Serve on toated crusty rolls.



Saute onion and mushrooms in olive oil and set aside. Mix mayo, white pepper, and thyme leaves in a seperate bowl and refrigerate. In a large mixing bowl combine gr. beef,onion and mushroom mixture, wine and salt and pepper. Mix gently until combined and form into patties. Place on hot grill and cook until done to your likeness! Turn off grill and top patties with cheese. Close grill lid until cheese is melted over patties. Remove burgers and place on platter. Top with lettuce and herb mayo.Place on rolls and enjoy!
