simple homestyle burger

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.


3 lbs good ground chuck
1-medium red onion cut and diced
1-cup plain bread crumbs
1-teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup white zinefandel
1 0r 2 large tomatoes
1-lb pkg of medium cheddar cheese
1-jar lakeside’s hot german dusseldorf mustard
1-pkg good large kaiser hambuer buns



put ground check in cold bowl,add diced onions,eggs,bread crumbs,salt,pepper and wine. gentlely hand mix,donot over mix. form into patties. put in a glass dish cover with foil put in refrigerator to get cold.

lightly butter large kaiser hamburger buns,grill till golden brown and set aside. slice up tomatoin nice thick slices and set aside in refrigerator to get cold. same with cheddar cheese.
spray grill grates with grill cooking spray,get coals white hot.when coals ready,put burgers on grill. grill about 5-minutes or so till medium rare. put slice of cheese on each burger let it get melted just a little. take off grill and set aside to rest.
start to assemble buns and burgers. lay out buns spread hot german mustard on top bun,put burger with cheese on bottom bun add tomato slice,salt pepper tomato slice put on top bun and serve with huge dill pickle and chips!
