Slaw Smash’n Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

1. 1 large head of cabbage
2. 1 c. white vinegar
3. 1 c. vegetable oil
4. 2 T salt
5. 4 1/2 T pepper
6. 2 T sugar
7. strainer
8. 4 large Russet potatoes
9. 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
10. 3/4 lb. corned beef
11. 6 slices provolone cheese
12. 6 eggs 1
3. oven proof pan
14. 2 loaves crusted Italian bread
15. 2 large tomatoes
16. hot sauce, optional 
cooking spray, for the grill

 

Instructions

1. Cut cabbage into quarters, take core out and slice very thin longways. 2. Mix vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and sugar together with the cabbage and toss. 3. Strain slaw. 4. Slice potatoes longwise into 1/8 inch slices, place into cold water. 5. Make burger patties into 6-4oz rectangle patties. 6. Heat grill and spray with oil. 7. Place burgers onto grill and cook unitl they reach 160 degrees. 8. While burgers are cooking pat potatoes dry and place onto grill. 9. Cook potatoes until tender. 10. Top 2 oz. corned beef onto each burger. 11. Melt 1 slice cheese onto each burger. 12. Slice bread into 2 inch slices. 11 Place pan onto grill and crack egg into pan to make fried egg. Make 6 fried eggs. 12. Place 6 slices of bread down, on each slice of bread layer 6 slices of potatoes. 13. Place burger onto each slice of bread. 14. Top each burger with a fried egg. 15. Top each burger with a generous amount of cole slaw. 16. Layer 2 slices of tomato onto each sandwich. 17. Layer other slice of bread onto each sandwich. 18. Cut each sandwich in half. 19. Top with hot sauce on sandwich, optional.
