Smothered & Covered Stuffed Double Burger

Pairs well with:

Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

1. 1/4 lb 93% lean meat patties
2. 1/2 tsp Worschestire Sauce
3. Tomatoes sliced thin
4. American Cheese slices (can use bleu cheese crumbles as substitute)
5.Cream cheese- sliced thin
6. 1 Yellow or Red onion sliced thin
7. 5 Mushrooms sliced medium
8. 1/2 tbs Low sodium soy sauce
9. Ginger – Pinch to flavor
10. 1 tsp margarine
11. 1 package Whole Wheat Buns

Instructions

Shape each 1/4 lb beef patty with 1/2 tsp of Worscheshire Sauce drizzled in. Place tomato slice, American cheese slice and Philadelphia cheese slice on patty. Cover that patty with another 1/4 lb patty. Pinch edges of patties together to a very smooth finish so as not to allow any of the cheese to escape once cooked. Prepare grill as normal and cook burger while flipping frequently to evenly cook both sides. Allow more time than usual as this is a double burger. Meanwhile, over medium heat on the stove top, melt margarine with Ginger. Saute in the onion and mushrooms slices and cook approx. 4-5 minutes or until desired texture. Simmer until Burgers are ready then smother those burgers!
