Southern Stuffed Blue Cheese Burger

Pairs well with:

Pinot Grigio

You won’t need a bouquet of flowers when you share our Pinot Grigio. This crisp wine with floral aromas is a wonderful way to make an entrance.

I live in Texas and enjoy the flavor of the south. This burger was created after my sister in law introduced me to this contest because she does not even like burgers except mine when she comes to visit. I wanted to share this recipe in hopes that it will please your appetite as well.
Who doesn’t like to bite into a juicy scrumptious burger chalked full of flavor. Well all you Blue Cheese lovers out there I hope you enjoy my original creation of the Southern Stuffed Blue Cheese Burger, a filling and tasty burger packed full of rich flavor and delight.

Ingredients:

Italian Tomatoes:
1 whole tomato
1/2 cup Italian dressing

40 Spice Pumus Mayonnaise Spread:
1/2 cup 40 spice pumus
1/4 cup prepared mayonnaise

Patties:
2 pounds of fresh 100% lean ground beef
1/2 cup minced sweet yellow onion
1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce

vegetable oil for brushing on grill
6 Golden Egg Buns split
6 oz crumbled blue cheese
6 pieces of iceberg lettuce

Instructions:

Prepare a medium to hot fire in a charcoal grill with cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium high heat.
Slice the tomato into 6 slices. Place in a bowl along with the Italian dressing. Let marinate until ready to add to finished burger.
Mixed together in a large bowl, onion and Worcestershire sauce with the ground beef and form 6 patties, approximately, measuring 4-5 oz each.
Brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place patties on the grill. Cover, and let them cook for 4-5 minutes or until browned on the bottom. Turn patties and finish cooking until medium, about 5 more minutes or until done at preference.
Lightly toast buns if you prefer while the grill is hot.
To build your Southern Stuffed Blue Cheese Burger, place a generous amount of the mayo pumus spread on top and bottom of bun. Add a generous amount of blue cheese crumbs, and then add your patty. Add your marinated tomato slice on top of the patty, then finish off with lettuce, top bun , and serve.
