Stuffed Onion & Pepper Burger


1 Lb Ground Beef
1/4 lb Ground Chourico
3 cloves of garlic
salt & pepper (to taste)

3 cloves of garlic
1/2 Lb bacon
1 big onion (chopped)
2 peppers (green & red)(Chopped)
1 tbs hickory liquid smoke
1 tbs soy sauce
1/4 cup of kens honey mustard
4 slices cheese (American, swiss, or cheddar cheese)

4 fresh Portuguese Sweet Bread rolls or Kaiser rolls

Vegetable oil (for grill)



Preparing Filling

Dice bacon and fry in a sauté pan remove bacon onto a paper towel,
Remove most of the oil from the pan but keep a thin layer covering the bottom of the pan, Add liquid smoke, soy sauce, garlic, and honey mustard. Add peppers and onions, Coat evenly, cover, and cook under a low heat, When the peppers and onions are soft remove cover and cook off liquid and add bacon.

Preparing Patties

Combine Beef, Chourico, Garlic, Salt & Pepper in a mixing bowl
Separate mixture into 4 equal portions,

Separate each portion again, take 3/4 and flatten onto the wax paper take the remaining 1/4and flatten,

Place a piece of cheese in the center of the first patty, place filling on top of the cheese and the remaining patty on top of the filling, fold the edges of the bottom patty onto the top patty, Repeat

Place each patty into the pan and coat with sauce, then refrigerate until ready to be grilled,

Grill and serve on a fresh Portuguese Sweet Bread rolls or Kaiser roll.
