Sweet & Savory Bacon Relish Blue Slaw Beef Burger

Ingredients:

2 1/4 lbs. 80/20 ground beef
3 fine chopped shallots
2 Tlbs. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teas.salt
1 teas.black pepper
1- 16 oz. bag cole slaw mix (in the produce section of your grocery store).
1/3 cup blue cheese crumbled
3 Tlbs. white sugar
1 Tlbs. balsamic vinager
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teas. black pepper
1/2 teas. salt
1 lb. bacon chopped in 1/4″ pieces
3 large sweet onions- chopped fine
1/4 cup dried cranberrys
1/2 stick butter
6 potato buns

Instructions:

Step 1:
Combine in large bowl, mayonnaise, blue cheese, balsamic vinager, 1 teas. black pepper, 1/2 teas. salt & 3 Tlbs.sugar. Fold in the bag of cole slaw, mix well set aside.
Step 2:
Combine ground beef, shallots, worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teas. salt, 1 teas. black pepper, mix well and divide into six patties. Set aside.
Step 3:
Pre heat gas grill to high heat. Place large grill proof frying pan on grill and add chopped bacon, cover and stir often. When bacon is almost crisp add chopped sweet onions & dried cranberrys. Close lid and stir often. When onions are caramelized it’s done. Remove from heat, set aside for building burger.
Butter the potato buns on both sides, and set aside.
Place burger’s on pre heated medium/high heat grill. Grill approximately 4 – 6 minutes on each side.
While burges are grillin’ place buns on grill butter side down for approximately 2 minutes. Remove & set aside.Then place bottom bun’s butter side up on a serving dish, add the patty, then 2 heaping Tlbs. bacon relish, then approximately 1/2 cup slaw mix on top of bacon relish, top with top bun.
