Taste of Italy burger
Ingredients
Tomato Bruschetta:
3 medium tomatoes, finely diced
3 garlic cloves, finely minced
1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
6 Tbsp. Colavita extra virgin olive oil
1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
kosher salt, to taste
fresh ground pepper
Patties:
2 pounds ground chuck
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp. dijon mustard
2 tsp. Worchestershire sauce
2 tsp. dried oregano
2 tsp. kosher salt
fresh ground pepper
vegetable oil
6 slices provolone cheese
6 sour dough rolls, sliced
Colavita olive oil
3 garlic cloves, cut in half
Instructions
Tomato Bruschetta:
Combine tomatoes,garlic, basil, olive oil, and red wine vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Let sit and allow flavors to marry.
Patties:
Gently combine ground chuck, garlic, dijon mustard, Worchestershire sauce, oregano, and salt. Season with fresh ground pepper. Form 6 patties and set aside.
Heat grill to medium-high heat. When ready, brush grill with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place patties on grill, cover and cook, turning once for approximately 5-7 minutes for medium doneness. Just before removing from grill, place provolone cheese slices and allow to melt with lid closed.Remove and keep warm. Generously brush sour dough rolls on top and bottom with olive oil. Place on edge on edge of grill, toast until lightly brown. Remove from grill and immediately rub each roll generously with the halved garlic cloves.
To assemble,place a patty on the bottom roll, layer with generous amount of tomato bruschetta( include the juice of the buschetta) and top roll. Mangiare!
