Taste of Tuscany
2 lbs. ground sirloin 85% lean
6 tbs. sundried tomato basil pesto sauce
2 tbs. Italian Seasoning
1 tsp. sweet paprika
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 cup garlic infused olive oil
6 focaccia buns
1/2 cup garlic herb cheese spread
6 slices of prosciutto
6 slices smoked gouda cheese
Combine by hand mixing the sirloin, tomato basil pesto, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt and pepper. Form into 6 patties being careful not to press the burger too tightly. Just enough to form a nice patty. Place the burgers on a 325-350 degree grill and cook to medium well approximately 15 minutes. In the mean time slice the six buns and brush with the garlic oil. When the burgers are almost done, place the buns on the grill for toasting.
When the buns are toasted place one patty on each bun bottom. Top the patty with one sixth of the garlic herb cheese, one slice of prosciutto and one slice of the smoked gouda. Place the bun top on each burger, turn off the heat and close the grill lid to allow the gouda to melt. Approximately two minutes. Serve and enjoy your brief trip to Tuscany.
