Tempura Burger

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Pounds. 80% ground beef
  • 1 Tablespoon. terriyaki sauce
  • 2 Teaspoon. sesame oil
  • 3-4 chopped scallions
  • 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1 Cup flour
  • 1/2-2/3 Cups seltzer
  • 1/2 Teaspoon. baking powder
  • 4 Tablespoon. additional flour
  • 1 avacado
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 Tablespoon. vegetable oil
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Saute chopped scallions in vegetable oil for 3-4 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, terriyaki sauce, sesame oil, scallions and breadcrumbs. Form into patties.
  • Make tempura batter with the flour, seltzer and baking powder.
  • Dredge burgers in flour and then tempura batter.
  • Deep fry in oil until desired doneness is reached.
  • Put burger on the brioche bun and top with a slice of avacado, a slice of tomato and a splash of terriyaki sauce.
