Instructions

Directions Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium-high. To make the Bagel Burger spread, let cream cheese soften at room temperature then place in bowl. Fold in Buddig beef and dill pickles and green onion until mixed well. Refrigerate until serving. To prepare your toppings, slice tomatoes thinly, ready the romaine in large sections to top the burger, and wash bean sprouts. Refrigerate until serving. To make the patties, combine the beef, chopped ham, cream cheese, chopped green onions, chopped mushrooms, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix all ingredients together to an even consistency. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties to fit the bagels. Sprinkle patties with Seasoning Salt on both sides. Brush the grill rack with oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and grill until browned on the bottoms, 3 to 4 minutes. Turn the patties and continue grilling until done to preference, about 5 minutes longer for medium. During the last few minutes of cooking, butter the inside / top of each bagel and place cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly. To assemble the burgers, place a generous amount of the Bagel Burger spread over the bottom portion of the bagel. Place the patty on the spread. Top the burger with lettuce, tomato, and bean sprouts. Add the bagel top and serve. Makes 6 burgers Linda, Des Moines, Iowa
