The Great Western County Fair Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

This burger contains the tastes and flavors of the favorite foods served at county fairs throughout Montana and the West.It is a burger, a hot dog, an order of french fries and onion rings and even has watermelon for dessert. The whole county fair in your mouth at one time.

Ingredients:

2 pounds lean ground beef
3 all beef or Kosher hot dogs, diced
2-¼ cups frozen hash browns, thawed
3 teaspoons smoked paprika
3 teaspoons salt
¾ cup watermelon, seeded and chopped
6 tablespoons DURKEE Famous Sauce
6 Kaiser rolls, split
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 can (3oz.) French Fried Onions

Instructions:

Pre-heat Grill on High for 10 minutes

In a medium sized mixing bowl, thoroughly combine all ingredients down through and including the salt. Form ground beef mixture into 6 patties, slightly larger in diameter than the Kaiser rolls. Place on plate, cover with plastic wrap and set aside.

In a small mixing bowl, gently combine the chopped watermelon and the DURKEE Famous Sauce, cover and set aside.

Spread the butter on the insides of the Kaiser rolls.

Turn heat down to medium. Place the rolls on the grate and grill until nicely browned, approximately one to two minutes , and set aside.

Place the hamburger patties on the grill and cook for approximately 10 minutes or until done, turning once.

Place the bottom half of each roll on a serving platter and top each with a burger patty. Sprinkle a generous amount of the fried onions on top of each burger. Spread equal amounts of the watermelon sauce onto each remaining roll half and place on top of the burgers.
