This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients:

2.5 lbs 80% Lean Ground Beef
1 TBS ground prepared Horseradish
1 TBS Worcestershire
1 pint fresh Blueberries (Maine wild blueberries if avail)
1/2 Fresh finely chopped Jalapeno pepper
2 TBS finely chopped fresh Thyme (divided)
3 TBS Blueberry Fruit Spread (or Jam)
1/4 Cup Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
6 Slices Hickory smoked Bacon – approximately 6 oz
8 Ounces Goat Cheese
6 Kaiser rolls
6 large Red Leaf Lettuce Leaves

Instructions:

Preheat grill at Med High Flame.

TO SHAPE BURGERS:
Mix Ground Beef with horseradish and worcestershire.
Shape into 6 equal patties approximately 1 inch thick and set aside.

TO MAKE BLUEBERRY SAUCE:
In a flame-proof 1 Qt sauce pan, mix Blueberries, Jalapeno, 1 TBS of the Thyme, Blueberry Fruit Spread, and Wine. Set on grill and cook, stirring occasionally and cook until blueberries burst and mixture reduces, approximately 20 minutes.

TO MAKE BACON CHEESE TOPPING:
Place bacon in 9 inch saute pan and place on grill. Cook until bacon is crisp. Remove pan from heat and remove bacon from pan. Place goat cheese and thyme in a bowl. Chop bacon into 1/4 inch dice and add to goat cheese and remaining 1TBS thyme mixing well. Set aside for assembly.

Place burger patties on grill. Cook for approximately 8-10 minutes, flipping half way through.

While burgers are cooking, place Kaiser rolls on grill, cut side down, and toast until warm and golden (approximately 2 minutes).

To assemble, place bottom halves of rolls on platter, In the following order, top each with one lettuce leaf, one burger, 1/6 of bacon andcheese mixture, 1/4 cup blueberry sauce and top half of roll. Serve and Enjoy!
