The Middle Eastern Burger with Herb cheese spread, grilled tomatoes and Onion

Ingredients

Herb Cheese Spread

2 packages of 8 oz. Cream Cheese (Room temperature)

8 oz Creamy Feta Cheese

¼ teaspoon Kosher Salt

1 lemon, you will need 1 tablespoon of the lemon juice

¼ cup chopped fresh Dill

¼ cup of fresh cilantro

1 Banana Pepper chopped fine

¼ teaspoon of Hot Sauce

The Middle Eastern Pattie

2 pounds 80% Ground Chuck

¼ cup White Onion diced fine

2 Green Onions diced fine

2 Crushed Garlic Cloves

1 Banana Pepper diced fine

2 teaspoon Kosher Salt

1 teaspoon Seasoned Black Pepper (Lawry’s)

½ cup Sutter Home Merlot Wine

2 tablespoons of Melted unsalted butter

Olive Oil for Brushing the grill rack

Garnishes

4 Plum Tomatoes sliced (3 pieces per tomato -12 pieces needed)

1 White Onion sliced thin

6 Slices of Pita Bread with pocket

 

Instructions

Directions

Preheat Gas Grill to medium high

*To make Herb cream cheese spread combine cream

cheese, feta cheese & kosher salt in

Food processor blend until smooth- remove to bowl add

lemon juice, dill, Cilantro,

Banana pepper, hot sauce, refrigerate until cold

(10 Minutes)

*To make the patties, combine beef, white onion, green

onion, crushed garlic cloves,

Banana pepper, kosher salt, seasoned black pepper,

Butter. Mix very gently- do not compact the beef

mixture- shape into 6 oval patties to

Fit the roll.

When Grill is hot wipe down grill rack with Olive Oil so

Patties do not stick to rack.

Place Patties on hot Gas grill (425 degrees) cover and

grill 5-6 min Flip Pattie over and

Cover & grill another 5-6 minutes until meat is medium

inside Remove, Set aside cover

with foil and let rest for 5 min.

Mean time brush pita bread with olive oil and toast very

lightly on each side on grill rack,

remove and set aside.

Brush Tomato slices and white onion slices with olive

oil, sprinkle with kosher salt, and

Grill until soft and tender on both sides. Remove and set

aside.

*To Assemble Middle Eastern Burger, spread 2-3

tablespoons of Herb cheese spread in

the inside of pita, place Pattie on top of cheese spread,

add a grilled

Tomato slice and a grilled onion slice and enjoy!
