1.5 pounds ground beef
1 cup taboule (use prepared box ingredients and make taboule ahead of time, adding the basic ingredients of water, oil, and lemon juice as directed on the box)
15 kalamata olives, pitted and chopped
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
1 small container crumbled feta cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Prepare taboule in advance, according to instructions on box. Place ground beef into mixing bowl and add taboule, cheese, olives, tomatoes,salt and pepper, and herbs (as desired). Mix thoroughly and shape into patties. Grill until done. Save some of the cheese, tomatoes, and olives, and top burgers, if desired, melting cheese. Slice open pita bread and smear with olive oil and herbs, baking until warm and slightly crisp. Serve burgers on pita "buns."
