Ingredients

1 cup sauerkraut
6 slices Swiss cheese
6 Rye Rolls or 12 slices rye bread
6+ Tablespoons Russian dressing
Easy Russian dressing
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1/8 cup Ketchup
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/8 cup Sweet Pickle relish
Mix all ingredients together and keep cold.
Patties
1 1/2 pounds ground Chuck
4 tablespoons Sutter Home Chenin Blanc
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Vegetable oil, for brushing on the grill rack

Instructions

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium-high. Make the Easy Russian Dressing and set aside (keep chilled) To make the patties, combine the Ground Chuck, Chenin Blanc, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Handle the meat as little as possible to avoid compacting it, but mix well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties to fit the rolls or bread as necessary. When the grill is ready, brush the grill rack with vegetable oil, and place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook, turning once, until done to preference, 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium. During the last few minutes of cooking top the burgers with a slice of the Swiss cheese, and place the rolls (or bread), cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly. To assemble the burgers, on each roll bottom, place a generous spoonful of the Russian Dressing and top with a patty. Then top the patty with a generous forkful of Saurkraut. Top with a roll lid and enjoy! Makes 6 burgers
