Ingredients

1 lb lean hamburger, gr chuck or gr round
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce or 1 tsp Worcestershire powder
2 tbs finely chopped chives
1/2 tbs dill weed
3 slices good quality Black Forest ham or Virginia baked deli ham, medium sliced
6 tbs mozzarella finely shredded
1 medium onion halved and sliced
1 7oz can of sliced mushrooms
3 tbs Horseradish sauce
dash of salt and pepper to taste
1 tbs butter or margarine
3 large onion hamburger buns
non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

1. Thoroughly mix hamburger, dill, Worcestershire sauce, chives, salt and pepper and keep refrigerated until ready to grill – make three hamburger patties and grill according to preference. 2. Saute' mushrooms and onion in butter or margarine until golden brown – begin with onion then add mushrooms when onions become translucent – reserve for topping. 3. Spray small frying pan with non-stick spray, and fry each piece of ham for a minute on each side. Place one tablespoon on each ham slice, fold in half and refry each piece on both sides until cheese begins to soften – set aside until burgers are done grilling. 4. When burgers are nearly done, Toast inside of onion buns lightly to form a crust, and apply a thin spread of horseradish sauce on each piece of the bun, about 1 tbs per bun. 5. When burgers are done, reheat ham and cheese rolls for about 20 seconds, and the onions and mushrooms for about 40 seconds in the microwave. 6. Build burger from bottom bun with ham/cheese roll, burger, mushroom and onion topping and finish with bun top.
