Ingredients

Rosemary Garlic Spread:
– 1 cup mayonnaise
– 1 tsp of fresh garlic minced
– 1/4 cup of parmigiano reggiano cheese(grated)
– 1/4 cup fresh chopped rosemary
Grilled Zucchini and Tomatoes:
– 1 medium zucchini sliced into 1/4" rounds
– 2 plum tomatoes sliced into 1/4" rounds
– 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
– kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Patties:
– 2 lb. ground sirloin
– 1/2 lb. ground pork sausage
– 1 cup of Sutter Home Merlot
– 1/2 cup fresh chopped rosemary
– 2 fresh cloves of garlic minced
– 1/4 cup of parmigiano reggiano cheese (grated)
– 1 tsp kosher salt
– 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
– 1/4 lb. of sliced provolone cheese
– 1 loaf of Semolina Bread, sliced into 1/2" thick pieces

 

Instructions

Directions: First prepare the Rosmary Garlic Spread, in a small bowl combine the mayonnaise, garlic, cheese, rosemary and mix well. Refrigerate until ready to assemble burgers. Next get you vegetables ready to go. Slice the zuchini and tomatoes and arrange flat on a platter (do not stack slices). Brush the veggies with extra virgin olive oil an sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place platter in the refrigerator until ready to grill. Now prepare a medium- hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium high. Finally to make the burger patties, in a large bowl combine the ground sirloin, pork sausage, merlot, rosemary, garlic, grated cheese, salt and pepper. Mix ingredients together well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form each portion into disc shaped patties. Refrigerate intil ready to grill. To cook, brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover and grill until brown on the bottoms, 7-10 minutes. Turn the patties and continue grilling until done to preference, about 10 minutes, longer for well done. While patties are cooking, place a perforated grill pan on the grill rack next to them. Brush the perforated pan with vegetable oil and place the sliced zucchini and tomatoes on the pan. Grill the veggies until done to preference, 5-7 minutes on both sides. Remove from grill and cover with aluminium foil to keep warm. On the outer edges of the grill, lighly toast the semolina bread slices. Once burger patties are cooked to prefernce, place 3-4 zucchini slices on top of the pattie (while still on the grill). Place 1-2 slices of provolone cheese over the zucchini slices, cover the patties for 3-4 minutes until cheese is melted. To assemble the burgers, take two slices of the toasted semolina bread and apply liberally the rosemary garlic spread. Place 3-4 grilled tomatoes on the bottom slice of bread. Place the burger pattie on top of the tomatoes, cover the burger the the top sliice and enjoy! Makes 6 burgers
