Pairs well with:

Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

My husband is Italian and he loves all Italian foods but also loves a good burger so I decided to take Italian ingredients/flavors and combined them into burger.

Ingredients:

1 ½ pounds ground chuck (80/20)
6 oz sundried tomatoes w/ capers in oil
3 tablespoons Italian bread crumbs
3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1 ½ tablespoons worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons milk
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
18 slices natural hard wood smoked bacon (Oscar Mayer)
3 oz pesto sauce
3 oz mayonnaise
6 French hamburger buns
6 slices provolone
12 slices tomatoes

Instructions:

Preheat grill at 300 degrees.
Chop sundried tomatoes fine. In a mixing bowl add first nine ingredients mix well and form six even patties. Wrap patties with bacon using three slices per patties. Place patties on the grill and close lid cook seven minutes flip burgers and cook additional seven minutes.
In a small bowl mix pesto sauce and mayonnaise and set aside. In the last couple minutes of grilling the patties place sliced buns on grill to slightly toast.
To assemble the burgers place patty on the bottom bun then top with one slice of provolone and two slices of tomatoes spread one ounce of pesto mixture on top bun and place on top of tomatoes . Repeat for remaining five. Serve right away.
