3 Cups Sliced Yellow Onion
3 Cups Sliced Green Pepper
3 Cups Sliced Mushrooms
1 tsp sea salt

Bun
6 Portuguese Sweet Bun “Bolo Levedo”
4 tsp Salted Butter

Instructions

To cook you need a large flat griddle (either on a stove top or on the grill) and a metal spatula. The total cook time is 8 to 12 minutes depending on how the burger will be cooked.

Heat a large griddle up to medium heat. Mix your ground black pepper, garlic powder and sea salt up to season your burger. Take your Angus beef burgers, coat both sides with Colavita Olive Oil and rub the seasoning on each side. Place the burgers on the griddle to begin to cook.

On a separate spot on the griddle, place your sliced onions, green pepper and mushrooms on the griddle. Pour your remaining Colavita Olive Oil over them and sprinkle with the 1 tsp of sea salt. Take your spatula and mix evenly.

On a separate spot on the griddle, place the pieces of bacon to begin cooking.

Once your burger has been cooking for approximately 5 minutes, flip the burgers. Immediately after flip your bacon, and mix your onion, pepper and mushrooms.

Take your four tsp of salted butter and melt in on the griddle in a different location. Cut your Portuguese Bun “bolo levedo” in half and place it on the melted butter to grill.

Place two slices of Land of Lakes American Cheese on top of each burger. Cook the burgers to your desire. If you are more comfortable, use a meat thermometer to know when the burger is cooked to your satisfaction (rare to well done). Cook your onion, peppers, and mushrooms until they are tender which should happen around the time the burger is finishing.

Remove the Portuguese buns from the griddle, place the burger on the bottom half of the bun. Top the burger with your three bacon strips, then with your onion, pepper and mushroom mix. Place your remaining half of the Portuguese bun on top and you are ready to eat the most delicious burger you will ever have. Do this for each burger.

If you are working with a limited cooking space, you can pre cook the bacon in a pan to save space.
