Juice from one lime
1 cup barbecue sauce, any brand
2 tabelspoons adobo sauce (from can of chipotle chilis in adobo sauce)
12 slices pre-cooked bacon, chopped
½ yellow onion, chopped
1 tablespoon blackened seasoning mix, any brand
Patties:
2 pounds ground chuck
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon fresh garlic, minced
¼ cup Sutter Home Syrah
2 tablespoons sauce reserved from the BBQ Adobo Black Beans Vegetable oil for brushing grill rack
6 ciabatta rolls, split 6
(1 ounce each) slices Sharp Cheddar cheese

Instructions

Pre-heat a gas grill to 350 degrees F, or to medium-high heat. To make the BBQ Adobo Black Beans, add black beans to a 2-quart fireproof saucepan with a lid. With a fork, slighly mash the beans. Add the Sutter Home Syrah, lime juice, barbecue sauce, Adobo sauce, chopped bacon, onion and blackened seasoning in the pan. Stir until well combined. Reserve two tablespoons of the sauce from the mixture for the patties. Place the pan on the grill rack. Cook 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Remove the pan from the grill, cover and set aside. To make the patties, combine the ground chuck, salt, ground black pepper, garlic, Sutter Home Syrah, and reserved sauce from the BBQ Adobo Black Beans in a large bowl. Mix well, while handling the meat as little as possible to avoid compacting. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties sized to fit the rolls. Brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook, each side 4 to 6 minutes. During the last few minutes of cooking, top each patty with 1 slice Sharp Cheddar cheese. Continue to cook, covered, until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F. and the cheese is melted. During the last few minutes of cooking, place the rolls, cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly. To assemble the burgers, place a cooked patty on the bottom cut side of each bun. Spread ¼ cup BBQ Adobo Black Beans on top of each patty. Add the bun tops and serve. Makes 6 burgers
