White Zinfandel Soaked Yellow Raisin Burger With Macadamia Crust
Ingredients
- 2 Pounds 80/20 chuck
- 1 Tablespoon worcestershire
- 1/2 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon pepper
- 6 brioche buns
- 1 Cup plump yellow raisins
- 1 Cup white zinfandel
- 2 Cups finely chopped macadamia nuts
- 6 slices sharp cheddar
- 1 Tablespoon melted butter, for brushing on the buns
- Fresh baby spinach
- 3/4 Cup mayo
- 1 Teaspoon cayenne
- 1/2 Teaspoon hot sauce (high quality)
Instructions
- 1. Place raisins in zinfandel and let soak for 30 minutes
- 2.
- Remove the raisins and place on papertowel to absorb some of the liquid
- 3.
- Crush the macadamia nuts and place in a plate
- 4.
- Mix the beef, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, raisins together.
- 5. Form 6 patties and press the macadamia into both sides of the burger.
- Pressing firmly.
- 6.
- Cook the burgers 5-6 minutes on each side, per 1/2 inch of thickness or until thermometer reads 160.
- 7.
- In the last minutes of cooking the burger, add the cheese to melt.
- 8.
- Slather buns with butter and grill 1-2 minutes until done
- 9.
- Mix the mayo, hot sauce and cayenne in small bowl
- 10. Place bun on botton, fresh baby spinach , burger and top with spicy mayo
