Wild Turkey Burgers with Kickin Cranberry Relish

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.


2 lb. ground turkey
2 ounces Wild Turkey Straight Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey
2 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. dried thyme
1/4 tsp. dried oregano
1/8 tsp. Bell’s Seasoning
2 eggs
1 cup unseasoned bread crumbs
8 Portabella Mushrooms
1 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup diced red onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
Vegetable cooking spray
8 Hamburger buns


Combine first 11 ingredients; shape into 8 patties.
In a large bowl combine cranberries, OJ, onion, cilantro, teaspoon garlic, jalapeno, lime juice, cumin, ½ teaspoon salt. Chill 2 hours.
Coat grill rack with cooking spray. Place patties on grill over medium heat.
Place mushrooms face down on grill.Cook 8 minutes on each side or until done.
The last two minutes place buns on grill. Toast lightly.
Bottom of bun, burger, mushroom ( sliced on bias ) , relish, top of bun
