Get cozy and get pouring. Our Merlot is the wine for long weekends and lengthy chats.

Chutney ingredients:
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup apple, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
3 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup golden raisins
1 1/2 tsp orange peel
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 c red onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cloves
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper

Burger ingredients:
1 lb ground sirloin
1 lb. ground chuck
1/2 cup lite beer
1/3 cup grated smoked Gouda
1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
3/4 cup dried cranberries
3/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
vegetable oil for brushing grill rack
6 slices sharp cheddar cheese
6 Kaiser rolls

Chutney directions:
Prepare a medium hot grill. Heat a medium, heavy, non-stick skillet on the grill. Combine all chutney ingredients in the pan; bring to a boil. Move pan to indirect heat and allow chutney to simmer for 25 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

For burgers: Carefully mix the meats, beer, grated cheeses, dried cranberries and pepper in a large bowl. Form into six hamburger patties. Brush the grill rack with oil. Place burgers on heat and cook for five minutes. Flip to cook other side; place one slice of cheddar cheese on each burger and cook for five more minutes. During the last few minutes of cooking, place the rolls, cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly.
Top burgers with cranberry chutney and serve on Kaiser rolls.
