Ingredients
- Zaatar seasoning:
- 5 tablespoons sumac
- 2 tablespoons dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons dried oregano
- 2 tablespoon ground cumin
- 3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Burgers:
- 2 Pounds ground beef
- 1 small white onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 3/4 Cup zaatar seasoning (see above)
- Garnish:
- lettuce
- sliced tomato
- sliced red onion
- truffle oil
Instructions
- Make zaatar seasoning by stirring the ingredients together (sumac, thyme, oregano, cumin, sesame seeds, sea salt and black pepper)
- Combine ground beef, onion, Dijon mustard and zaatar seasoning together until well mixed.
- Form into six large patties (about 3/4 inch thick)

- heat a lightly oiled pan on high heat and then grill the burgers for about 5 minutes per side until and internal
- temperature of 160 degrees F.

- serve burgers on a toasted brioche bun, top with garnishes; lettuce, tomatoes, red onion
- 3. (optional) drizzle a bit of truffle oil on top of the burger
