Zesty Chipotle Turkey Burger

Pairs well with:

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.


1 pound ground turkey (93% lean)
1/2 cup organic blue corn tortilla chips,ground in food processor canned chilis in adobo sauce
1 egg white,slightly beaten
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1 jalapeno,seeded and veined,diced
1/2 cup red onion, diced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
mexican melting cheese sliced
avocado sliced
chipotle mayonnaise
cilantro sprigs, optional



1. Prepare grill. 2. Place ground turkey in a large mixing bowl. 3. Take 2 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (more if you want more smokey flavor), chop coarsely. Measure 1 tablespoon of sauce, and add it to turkey. 4. Add rest of ingredients, and mix until evenly incorporated. 5. Divide turkey into 4 even patties, brush lightly with oil or nonstick grilling spray. 6. Place burgers on grill and cook until done. Add mexican melting cheese and close grill lid until melted. 7. To make chipole mayonnaise, add 1 tablespoon of adobo sauce to 1/4 cup of mayonnaise. 8. Place burger on your favorite bun or tortilla, top with sliced avocados, fresh tomatoes, chipotle mayo, and fresh cilantro.
